“Someone Angered the Gods”

© 2013 David Patrick Bryan

A hell of a storm a-head, someone angered the gods,
They cursed the blessed, just to even up the odds?
Why rock the boat, just because you can?
Is the truth to much ... to understand?

Is the one for all, for all being one?
Or do lies imply all being none?
Are we special, or are we cloned, (stop)
Made in the Kings image or made to be alone?

Now after our rook was stormed and purged
From all the lies our bishops did urge,
Were we pawns in this messy match,
Too weak to loosen this heavenly latch?

A hell of a storm a-head, someone angered the gods,
They cursed the blessed, just to even up the odds?
Why rock the boat, just because you can?
Is the truth to much ... to understand?

Are we recycled, or are we not?
Do we have past lives, is that what we got?
Was the whole truth held from most everyone?
Lies do hinder but can be undone!

The baby in the bathwater, one way to live,
But the whole picture is best to give,
The truths' so special, life's basic core,
Find the truth, have life and more!

A hell of a storm a-head, someone angered the gods,
They cursed the blessed, just to even up the odds?
Why rock the boat, just because you can?
Is the truth to much ... to understand?
Don't go playing the odds! It might anger the gods!
